TomTom App For Apple iPhone Released For $99

TomTom for the Apple iPhone has finally hit the App Store at a pricepoint of $99, a price that's very similar to their low-end GPS devices on the market today. TomTom for the iPhone works on both the iPhone 3G and the newer iPhone 3GS.

The app features pinch to zoom in and out, rotation from portrait to landscape, route to a name in your contact list, and TomTom IQ Routes.

With the IQ Routes the TomTom application will always calculate the smartest, most efficient route to take. It uses driving experiences of millions of drivers that have TomTom to work out the best route based on actual road speed data.

Like most TomTom devices, TomTom for the iPhone also has safety cameras and speed warnings. TomTom will let you know before you approach a speed camera well in advance.

Maps for the U.S. and Canada will take up 1.21GB of your space on your iPhone, so be prepared for that.
