Sony announced yesterday during a press event of a new digital e-book service that will allow the PSP to down and read comics from Marvel Entertainment such as Spider-man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Iron man. The new service is expected to launch in October of this year.
The e-book service will not extend beyond comics at the time being but the infrastructure and foundation will be there if they ever decide to venture into books later down the road.
Pricing of the comics are still not known but is expected to be a bit lower than the real deal of paper comics.
"We will announce that in our market as we get a little closer to launch," says Peter Dille, Sony Computer Entertainment America's senior vice president of marketing.
Also during the Sony Press event, they announced the Playstation 3 Slim at a price cut of $299 for the first time since the release of the PS3.
