HTC is working on an updated version of its Touch HD Smartphone but with one major change, the OS that it runs under. Currently the HTC HD phone runs under the Windows Mobile OS but word from the streets are that the new HTC HD will be running on Google's Android OS. In addition to Googlizing the phone, the HTC HD will also get a CPU upgrade with a faster 628MHz Qualcomm chip.
The Touch HD2 could be HTC's move towards Android OS adoption in most of their phones which is cheaper to design with, operate, and sell which can be passed down to the consumer.
There's no word yet on when the HTC Touch HD 2 will be available nor has pricing been finalized yet but you could probably expect it to hit store shelves in Q1 or Q2 of 2010.
