For the first time since 1997, the space shuttle has landed at Naval Air Station in Fort Worth Texas for an overnight stop, surely causing a double take for unsuspecting drivers on Interstate 30.
The Jumbo 747 with the Endeavour shuttle ontop, was scheduled to continue its trip to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida this morning. However, according to reports the departure has been delayed due to weather conditions.
The entire trip home for the Space Shuttle will cost nearly $2 million. Throngs of people lined Spur 341 to watch, and military members brought their families to take pictures and gape at the majestic sight. "Its the same reaction that I have, and I have seen it a lot its really pretty cool," said Mike Moses, launch integration manager for the shuttle program.
