Boffins, a company out of Utah, have come up with a car key that effectively jams mobile phones when the key is in the ignition. Perhaps you have teenagers who have a bad habit of texting while driving or talking on the phone while driving. This product is aimed towards correcting this problem.
The key relies on Bluetooth technology which wirelessly connects the keys to a phone. When you turn on the engine you have to slide the key out or push a button to release it. Once the key has been removed a message is sent to the mobile phone placing it into "driving mode" and places an image of a stop sign on the phone's display.
If an incoming text message comes in while in driving mode, it automatically replies with "I am driving now. I will call you later when I arrive at the destination safely."
We aren't sure if this device could really be used with teenagers as most of them probably know how to disable Bluetooth on their phones already which would appear to disable the device completely.
