Apple Nano iPhone For $99?

Rumors have been floating that Apple will very shortly release an iPhone Nano, yes a smaller version of the already popular iPhone. According to the rumors floating, Chinese manufactures are expected to start producing 60,000 Nano iPhones per day beginning December 20th.

We have also seen mock-ups of cases for the new nano iphone. The height of the device is expected to be the same height of the nano iPod but a bit wider and thicker. It should have very similar features as current iPhone 3G but without the 3G part. This is believed to be one of the reasons why the iPhone shrunk so much, they eliminated the need for a larger battery since 3G uses so much. If 3G is not in the phone, they can shrink the battery and therefore shrink the entire phone.

Everything is pointing to MacWorld in January, where Steve Jobs should announce the new phone and then shortly after be available in stores like Wal-Mart. Perhaps this is the new $99 phone we mentioned last week?
