Apples chief operating officer and acting CEO Tim Cook killed all rumors of a low-end line of iPhone nano phones and netbooks yesterday during an earning call meeting with the press and investors.
Cook stated that netbook have much less powerful hardware than what consumers want and they also come with small displays and cramped keyboards. Based on his words, Apple does NOT appear to be interested in developing netbooks anytime soon.
When Cook was asked about an iPhone Nano he said "You know us, were not going to play in the low-end voice phone business. Thats not who we are. Thats not why were here. Well let somebody do that, our goal is not to be the unit share leader in the phone industry. It is to build the best phone."
Based on both of his comments Apple will not be getting into the netbook business nor will we see an iPhone Nano anytime soon.
