Sony Adds Splash of Color to PSP

Tired of the boring black PSP? Well look to Sony for changing that, at least in Japan. Starting March 5th you will have the ability to purchase a PSP with one of the four new "Carnival Colors" with a 2200mAh battery. The new PSP will cost you $223 USD or you could drop another $50 and get one with the 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, PSP pouch, wrist strap and cleaning cloth.

With the introduction of the four new CARNIVAL COLORS in addition to the popular three basic colors of Piano Black, Pearl White and Mystic Silver, users will be able to choose from a wider selection to match their lifestyles and preferences and enjoy interactive entertainment anytime, anywhere on the PSP system. PSP users are also able to enjoy enhanced network services by connecting their PSP directly to PlayStation Store for downloading entertainment content, or by accessing adhoc Party for PlayStation Portable beta service, both launched in fall of 2008, and expanding services continuously.

No word on when the new colors will be avaliable outside of Japan.
