US Department of Defense Hacked - F-35 Fighter Data Stolen

Spies have broken into the US Department of Defense and have stolen terabytes worth of data on the most costly joint strike fighter in the Pentagon's history, the F-35. The project currently valued at $300 billion dollars was partly funded by the UK and is set to replace the currently aging fighter aircraft's in service today.

The United States believe the breach originated from China as they have tracked the intruders IP address to the country. This news comes only weeks after it was found that China or some other nations hacked the US infrastructure. Luckily, the intruders were unable to obtain very sensitive information about the project such as the control systems, sensors, and other sensitive information because such data is located on computer systems not hardwired to a network.

Perhaps it's time for the government to beef up their security measures to prevent such attacks in the future. We spend billions and billions on state of the art weapon systems and aircraft's but yet we only have mediocre security to protect such expensive projects?
