TiVo Mobile Allows Remote Scheduling of Your DVR

You're sitting in 6:00 work traffic on your way home from the office and you just remembered that you forgot to record Chuck on TV. What can you do? Well, if you have a TiVo you could bring up the TiVo Mobile Services web page and schedule it to record on your TiVo at home, before you get there.

TiVo's new mobile service allows customers to literally record any show, anytime, and from anywhere. The website, which is optimized for small screen, offers an interface users will find easy to use, and everything from search function by actor, title, director or keyword, to Daily Recommendations and Most Popular.

TiVo started out making television a more convenient, personal experience, and this is the next step to give television lovers total control over their media, Jim Denney, vice president of product marketing at TiVo Inc. explained. You must have a Series2 or Series3 Tivo box to take advantage of the new service.

The service is still in beta as of this week and can be accessed via m.tivo.com.
