Apple unofficially informed us that the iPhone 3.0 release is very near, as Apple released iTunes 8.2 to provide support for the soon to be released iPhone 3.0.
While Apple has been tight lipped about the announcement, a lot of speculation has been floating around the Internet about it. With the Worldwide Developers conference in San Francisco beginning next week, it's very likely that Apple will be releasing iPhone 3.0 especially with the release of iTunes 8.2 a week before the conference.
A few weeks ago Apple informed application developers for the iPhone that they would only be accepting programs that are compatible with the 3.0 operating system. This was Apple's effort to prepare the community for the new iPhone OS 3.0.
Now, with iTunes 8.2 released, everything is in place for the final release of the iPhone 3.0 software update.
The iPhone 3.0 software update will provide us many new features like multimedia text messages, cut and paste, better search functions, stereo bluetooth support, and peer-to-peer multiplayer capabilities. The software update also provides better third-party hardware support.
When's the iPhone 3.0 release date? We don't know for sure, but I would keep a close eye on our news feed next week! We'll be providing breaking coverage as it happens.
