iPhone 3.0 Release Time Here!

Standby iPhone users, the much anticipated OS 3.0 upgrade is arriving today between Noon and 2PM EST. You'll need to make sure your iPhone is connected to your PC and iTunes is up if you want to be one of the first to get the update!

The Apple iPhone 3.0 OS upgrade will bring us features like Multiplayer, Push Notification, better battery indicator, Text Awareness, MMS, data tethering, copy and past, and many more improvements.

The upgrade is free to iPhone users and will cost iPod Touch users $9.99 for the update.

Don't forget to upgrade to iTunes 8.2 as you will need this in order to get the final iphone 3.0 update.

During the World Wide Developers Conference a couple weeks ago Apple unveiled more details of the iPhone OS 3.0 software update. One of the major features is the "My iPhone" which allows you to locate your phone on a map with the MobileMe service.

Maybe you lost your iPhone? You don't have to worry any more! With the Remote Wipe feature, you can completely erase your iPhone remotely so that nobody can steal your information.

Sadly, the MMS and Data tethering features will not be available at the time of the 3.0 release. AT&T still has work on their end that must be completed before these features are enabled, but the functionality will be there and readily available. I think it simply gives AT&T plenty of time to come up with some new pricing structures.
