It's official, the iPhone 3.0 OS update has been delayed according to Apple. What originally was planned for a release this afternoon at 1PM EST, has been delayed until June 18th. Apple users will have to wait another full day to get the anticipated update.
I think that since users got wind that the release would be around 1PM EST today, Apple has decided to delay the release due to potential load on their servers. I'm assuming Apple will release the update very early in the morning EST to potential spread the downloads over a larger period of time.
They will also probably keep the actual release time tighter lipped than before as to not let the general public know.
We'll try to obtain the new launch time for tomorrow, for now -stay tuned.
Update: The release has NOT been delayed. This was based on a tip we received from a user and the Apple web page above that we pointed you to. The update has been officially released! You can find more information on how to install it and get it here.
Sorry, your kind of late.
