NASA Space Shuttle Endeavour which was originally planned to launch in June, and then got grounded time after time because of a gas leak, was unable to launch again this Saturday even after the gas leak was resolved. This time, mother nature was to blame as bad storms rolled into Kennedy Space Center forcing NASA to delay another 24 hours.
On Sunday the crew had a short five minute window but showers and thunderstorms were within 20 nautical miles of the shuttle's launch pad and NASA managers called off the launch again for safety reasons.
"Roman, we got the vehicle ready and the weather unfortunately did not cooperate with us today, we had some colliding sea breezes," said Launch Director Pete Nickolenko who radioed. "We're going to have to declare a scrub for today and try to bring the team back for another attempt tomorrow."
"We understand and we'll be ready," Commander Mark Polansky replied from Endeavour's flight deck.
NASA Will make another launch attempt today at 6:51PM EST with forecasters predicting a 60% chance of good launch conditions. If the Monday launch is a no-go the Shuttle's next attempt will be July 27th.
