Kids: Don't Text and Walk

A girl on Staten Island learned the hard way that you shouldn't text and walk at the same time because she quickly found her way into a nasty sewer seconds into a text to her friend. Apparently, 15-year-old Alexa Longueria fell in an uncovered manhole and suffered cuts and bruises after she was texting on her phone and was unaware of her surroundings.

According to the girl the manhole had no orange cones around it or any other sign that would warn walkers that the manhole was open. The girl walks the same sidewalk everyday and as she says, "I don't expect a big hole to be there".

The family hasn't yet decided if they are going to file a suit against the city for the cities neglect but the girl will be having an MRI this week to determine if there was any spinal injuries had.
